Privacy settings are there for a reason and make sure you make the most of it. It is important to repeatedly check your Facebook privacy setting in order to ensure that your account is secured at all times. The more secure your privacy settings are, the better.
- Be aware of third party log in
Be aware of the LOG in with Facebook setting. A lot of times, if you want to log in different apps, they offer you options like login with Gmail or log in with Facebook. When you select the option login with Facebook, that app gets access to your Facebook account. While some apps are secure, there are various apps that do not provide any sort of security.
In such cases it is important to see how much access are you giving to such apps and are you giving more access than required and how can one determine this?
- Step 1:- Click on your privacy settings
- Step 2:- Select the app setting
You will see all the different third party apps that you have logged in with your Facebook account. - Step 3:- Click on App edit
This helps you determine how much of access have you granted to each particular app. Go ahead and check and see if you have given more access than required. Do not give permissions like contact no, access to friend’s list, post, interest, messages, etc. - Step 4:- Remove unwanted apps
If you aren’t going to use those apps, then the best thing to do is to delete those apps.
